FIVE THOUSAND MILES
Book Design / Editorial Design / Photography

As I publish this project to my website (and the Internet in general), for the first time, it is a year to the day that I left for my adventure of a lifetime in Japan. It took me around 4 months to put together this book of my travels, entirely in my spare time – safe to say, it was well worth all the time and effort. I have just sent the final PDF off to print and can't wait to get my hands on the one and only copy. (Although if you really wanted to, you could buy a copy yourself – it’s been quite an expensive book to print nicely though.) The book contains over 1000 photographs, spans 196 pages and 17 days.

On the 11th of April, 2014, I boarded my flight to Tokyo – completely alone and having never before left Europe nor been on a flight of more than 3 hours – to begin my adventure of a lifetime in Japan. And so, here is my travel journal, written whilst in Japan and accompanied by just some of the 4000+ photographs that I took on my camera and iPhone. Previously in website form and now, after much hard work, book form.
